Poems

Hey guys, u might have seen that on my first blog i've posted a poetry. By reading that poem and even some other poems written by me many of my friends ask me questions like, "how you write a poem? how the ideas are coming to your mind, etc."

So , I would like to write blogs answering this kind of questions.

1)What is a poem?How to write it?
First of all, tell me that, what do you know about a poem? According to cambridge dictionery a poem is "a piece of writing in which the words are arranged in separate lines, oftenending in rhyme, and are chosen for their sound and for the images and ideas they suggest."

The main thing which you should keep in mind while writing a poem is rhyme.
Like for eg. in the following poem,
"Reading will make you confident
to express your mind,
and will give you knowledge
of every kind."
the last words of the 2nd and the last line of the stanza i.e. mind and kind are rhyming with each other

You all know how to write prose like esays, stories, etc. So, have you'll noticed any difference between prose and poetry?
Yes, obviously the 1st base for differentiation is that for poetry rhyming is necessary which do not have that much significance in prows. But there is one more difference which not only seperates poetry from prose but also gives a special characteristic , i.e.it explains big things in very few words. You should not use big sentences while writing a poem.

In one stanza you can add any number of lines, like 2 lines, 4 line , 5 lines 6 lines. Even you can write a poem with only one stanza of 7 lines termed as sonnet.
Its very easy to write a poem. But you should always remember 2 things while writing it:
1) the last words of the lines in each stanza should rhyme with each other, and
2) Don't make use of big sentences while writing a poem.

So in this way you have to write some 4 to 6 stanzas(you can write even more or less then that) and your poem will be ready.😄

Have you seen, how easy it is to write a poem?

In my next blog I will write about the methods of making your poem more attractive and beautiful.
